Winner: Schlomo Steel, Ann Arbor, MI - "If I Go Now"
Schlomo Steel is a writer and recording artist recently transplanted to Grand Rapids, Michigan. His writing has appeared in Rose and Thorn Journaland Polari Journal, among others. He has also released two independent albums, “Girl House” and “Orchestrated Underwear.” Steel graduated from the University of Michigan in 2009 with a BA in Russian Language and Literature.

Winner: Joe Jiménez, San Antonio, TX - "A Silver Homeboy Flicka Illuminates the San Juan Courts at Dawn"
Joe Jiménez lives in San Antonio, Texas. His work has appeared in Mariposas: New Queer Latino Poetry, Borderlands Texas Poetry Review, Saltwater Quarterly, elimae, and is forthcoming in Caper Literary Journal. The short film El Abuelo [1983], commissioned as part of London's 2008 Fashion in Film Festival, is based on Jiménez's affinity for ironing.
